Welcome to dropadot.world. By using the site, you agree to the following.

What dropadot is

Dropadot is an anonymous, location-based map. Each day, anyone can leave one short public message ("a dot"), one targeted message ("a flare"), one cross-continental question ("a cast"), and one drawing on a shared 100-tile canvas ("the realm"). Most content (dots, messages, flares, casts) is deleted at midnight UTC each day. The day's drawing canvas is preserved as a public artwork — anonymous, with no user-identifying data attached.

The site also includes a small art museum: a wall of frames hanging in the open space of the map. Artists may submit a piece for display through a submission form linked from inside the museum.

The museum

By submitting a piece to the museum, you confirm that you are the artist or otherwise have the right to share the work, and you grant dropadot permission to display the submitted image and any text you provide (your name, title, year, a short bio, and an optional link) on the site as part of the museum.

Museum submissions are not part of the daily reset. A piece may stay on the wall for an extended period — there is no fixed display duration, and we may take any submission down at any time without notice. If you want your own piece removed, contact us at the email below and we will take it down.

The submission form is hosted by Google Forms, so anything you enter passes through Google's servers before reaching us. Please do not submit work you would not want shown publicly.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to use dropadot. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has given you permission to use the site.

What you post

You are responsible for what you post (text, drawings, and any other contribution). Do not post:

We may remove any content that breaks these rules or the spirit of the site, at any time, without notice.

Location

Dropadot uses an approximate version of your location to place your dot on the map. Your browser shares your full GPS coordinates with this site, but the moment we receive them we round them to about 100 meters of precision before doing anything else with them. We never store or transmit your exact GPS coordinates. You can decline location access, in which case you cannot drop a dot or shoot a flare, but you can still browse and read everything. No accounts

Dropadot has no accounts, no logins, and no profiles. We cannot recover, edit, or restore anything you have posted.

The site is provided "as is"

We do our best to keep dropadot running, but we make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or that the site will always be available. We are not liable for anything that happens as a result of using the site.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated version.
